Dave Rainwater - Fiddle
Dave is from Jamestown, in the heart of California's gold country.
Earning respect in recent years as a fiddler, he has appeared at
many folk and bluegrass events throughout the West. His musical journey began in
1967, in Junction City, Kansas, learning folk tunes on harmonica and guitar, and later on
mandolin and fiddle.
His talents brought him into a larger theater years later when he
was asked to join 'Randy Sparks and The New Christy Minstrels'. With the Minstrels,
Dave appeared with many of his earlier folk heroes in the PBS television special, 'This
Land Is Your Land.'
His talent with the fiddle earned him top honors in over 50 fiddle
competitions. After winning a blue ribbon in 1993 at the prestigious Galax Fiddler's
Convention in Virginia, he retired to full time entertaining.
