Michael Martin Murphey(America's No#1 Cowboy singer) & Sonora's own Black Irish Band are teaming up together on a new recording. On June 24th, Murph will join the boys for a live recording session of songs for a new Cd Album to be released this summer. The new CD will feature traditional as well as original songs. Black Irish Band member Patrick Michael Karnahan wrote three songs for the new project.

The new Murphey CD will tell the story of America's Railroad History though songs. Artist/oil painter Karnahan painted the cover for the new CD that features Murphey on horseback while a steam locomotive steams by.

This will be the second time the Black Irish Band and Murphey have worked together. In 2007 they recorded a CD that was in honor of the Wild land Firefighter titled -Into the Fire. Murphey and the Black Irish band will be performing live on June 25th, at Black Oak Casino in Tuolumne California at 7:30pm. (Concert is free but has limited seating)
